We’ve long known that Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker will be heading to Glee Season 4 to play a “mentor of sorts” for Kurt (Chris Colfer), and now we’ve just learned what exactly her mystery fashion career will be.

Her glamorous SatC character, Carrie Bradshaw, worked as a staff writer at Vogue magazine, and it turns out that SJP’s new Glee character will have a very similar career.

“Sarah Jessica Parker is gonna be running Vogue.com,” Glee Executive Producer Ian Brennan told Access Hollywood at Comic-Con 2012. So basically, she’s Carrie Bradshaw for the 21st century — if Carrie Bradshaw got a huge promotion, and was about 50 times more neurotic!

Ian described the new character as “sort of frazzled, eccentric, hilarious,” adding. “It’s gonna be good.”

Good for us viewers watching at home? Absolutely. Good for poor Kurt, who we’re venturing to guess may have landed a Devil Wears Prada-esque internship at the famed fashion site? Eh, maybe not so much.

Ian also revealed some new scoop on Rachel’s (Lea Michele) new mentor: a tough-as-nails dance instructor played by film darling Kate Hudson.

“Kate Hudson will play Cassandra July,” Ian says. “And she’s gonna be able to sing and dance. It’s going to be pretty awesome. She’ll be Rachel’s dance teacher.”

So what does that mean for Rachel? Plenty of scenes spent in skintight dance gear. “I’m going to be in a leotard in the first like, five scenes of the show,” Lea says.
