Glee creator Ryan Murphy has barely even had a Twitter account for 24 hours, and he’s already giving away plenty of info about what fans can expect on Glee Season 4.
Chord Overstreet recently hinted that Sam might still be romancing his L.A.-bound lady Mercedes (Amber Riley) when the show comes back this fall, or that he might try to rekindle things with Quinn (Dianna Agron), instead.
However, Ryan confirms on Twitter that Sam will actually be getting a brand new love interest. “SAM will have a new girlfriend this year. Guess who it is!” he tweeted on July 31.
But, while Sam is looking lucky in love, the fate of one of the show’s other couples won’t be so rosy. “The writers are working on an episode called "The Break-Up" that I'm really excited about,” he wrote.
This is one bit of spoiler scoop about which we’re terrified to learn more. There are so many beloved couples who might be breaking up! With Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera) now in a long-distance relationship, we’ve already heard that there might be trouble ahead. The same thing goes for long-distance lovebirds Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss). Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Mike (Harry Shum Jr.), too, for that matter.
And don’t even get us started on Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele). With him MIA, and that hot new guy waltzing into her life, we’d say their chances of staying together aren’t looking all that great! So which of these couples is about to bite the dust? It seems like we’ll have to wait until at least Episode 3 or 4 to find out.
Yet while the future of Kurt’s relationship with Blaine seems up in the air, Ryan did confirm that things are about to start looking up in other aspects of his life. When a fan tweeted to tell Ryan, “We have seen him cry enough times we want to see him happy,” the Glee creator responded, “I agree with you! KURT will triumph at vogue.com . ;)”
While we’ve previously heard Sarah Jessica Parker may be a “frazzled, eccentric, hilarious” boss for Kurt at Vogue.com, it seems like Kurt will be able to overcome her manic tendencies and excel in this new position.
Plus, if you’ve been curious about the first group number of the season — wonder no more! Ryan reveals that the first group tune will be none other than Adele’s “Chasing Pavements.” Given Glee’s track record with previous Adele hits, we couldn’t be more excited. Now, if only we knew if The New Directions or the NYADA kids will be singing it...
