Now that Kurt (Chris Colfer) is no longer in Lima, Blaine (Darren Criss) suddenly finds that he has very little reason to stay at McKinley. That’s quite alright with the Dalton Academy Warblers. Blaine’s old choir has a huge competition coming up, and they’d give anything to have their former star return to the fold.
In fact, come Episode 7, the Warblers will launch a campaign with the sole purpose of convincing Blaine to transfer back to their magical land of Hogwarts-style hallways, navy blazers and no discernable adult supervision.
Leading the charge to bring back Blaine is none other than Hunter, a dashing new Warbler. Unlike Sebastian (Grant Gustin) before him, Hunter is straight, so he won’t be trying to romance Blaine, as well. But he definitely wants to get him as far away from McKinley as possible.
But what about the man behind Glee’s newest crooner? Here are 5 things to know about sexy 26-year-old actor Nolan Gerard Funk.
He’s Canadian, and that means he’s in good company on the Glee set.
He’s in Jennifer Lawrence’s new movie.
If you weren’t already planning to see Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence in her new horror movie, you might want to reconsider — mainly because Nolan is one of her co-stars in the film. The new Glee guy plays Tyler in The House at the End of the Street. Yeah, we know that going to a movie is going to cost you $10 + popcorn, but at least it’s better than another night of hate-watching Treme over Skype with your suddenly too-cool-for-school BF, right?
Are you a fan of Nickelodeon TV movies? Then he just might look familiar.
He’s got an impressive Broadway past.
Forget bit parts and chorus roles, Nolan snagged the title role of Conrad Birdie in the 2009 revival of Broadway’s Bye Bye Birdie. Watch him shake his hips, Elvis-style, in the clip below. But be warned — you might find yourself suddenly feeling a bit weak at the knees. The girls in the song certainly are.
He’s got quite the TV past, too.
In addition to his Broadway and movie work, Nolan’s appeared in plenty of TV shows: everything from Warehouse 13 and Smallville, to Castle and The L Word. And going back to movies for just a second, he also appeared briefly in X2. That’s quite a range of roles. Now the real question is: What will he look like in that signature Warblers blazer?
