If you fell in love with new guy Jacob Artist (Jake Puckerman) during Glee’s Season 4 premiere, “The New Rachel,” you are not alone. Jacob’s version of The Fray’s “Never Say Never” took our breath away — and it seemed to do the very same thing to the ladies of McKinley High School, one girl in particular.
Based on the promo for next week’s Britney Spears tribute, it looks like Jake and new girl Marley (Melissa Benoist) just might be forming a bit of a love connection — at least on Marley’s side of things. Is Jarley going to happen?
Marley’s not the only one after Jake; Newbie Becca Tobin recently told us Kitty has her sights set on him as well, and that she’s not afraid to fight dirty. So, when Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively with Jacob at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino Party on September 7, we made sure to ask him about the two girls vying for his onscreen affection.
You're in the middle of a love triangle!
A little bit, yeah. Kind of getting thrown right into the love, romance, drama.
What about Marley do you think makes her a good match for Jake?
I think Marley and Jake can kind of connect with the sense that they're both a little bit of the outsider in school, and as you'll see this season, there are so many other things that they really can relate and identify with.
What about Kitty — why do you think she should be with him?
I think she should be with Jake, probably just for her own self, I think that she thinks that that's just the way it should be, so then that's just how it should go.
Those two together would be so volatile.
Right. Those two would be lots of anger probably going on.
How is Jake going to fit in at McKinley?
It's interesting because he's definitely coming in as a lone wolf, and he's kind of opening up to the other characters, I think, as the season will go on. But his place, I'm not exactly sure where he’ll fit in.
