It’s been over a week since we heard anything new about Glee’s Brody Weston (Dean Geyer), and honestly, this lack of info simply won’t do.
This is the man who has the potential to steal Rachel (Lea Michele) away from Finn (Cory Monteith). But what about the character himself: do we love him? Do we hate him? There’s just not enough out there yet for us to decide.
Luckily, actor Dean Geyer tells The Insider a bit more about what his new character’s personality is like. “I see him as a very artsy guy. He has a musical background (dancing, singing, acting) — I guess he’s a lot like me.” Makes sense. We assume that’s to be expected from a NYADA upperclassmen with Broadway experience.
“The move to New York has given him a massive makeover,” Dean continues. “He's a lot more confident. He might border on coming across as a little arrogant, but he's got good intentions ... and the talent to back it up.”
Lea Michele (Rachel) said earlier that Brody would be “a cross between Jesse St. James [Jonathan Groff] and Finn,” and we’re definitely hearing a lot of Jesse in Dean’s description.
So what is it about Miss Rachel Berry that has Dean so lovestruck – and not willing to give up pursuing her? “Brody's definitely attracted to Rachel physically,” Dean says. “But also to the fact she's coming into the school almost green to the industry — this is a whole new world and he's attracted to the fact she hasn't been jaded by it yet.”
Fans of Finchel can take comfort in the fact that Brody and Rachel haven’t hooked up yet. She still seems to be very much carrying a torch for Finn. Still, Dean has only read up to Episode 3 so far, and he says there’s “definitely a potential love story” there.
What do you think, Glee fans: is anyone ready to convert to Team Brochel yet? It doesn’t look like St. Berry will be happening this season quite yet, so will you accept Brody as an alternative?
