The more we hear about Glee Season 4, Episode 18: "Shooting Star," the more we begin to worry that something serious will happen. FOX is keeping Information about the episode under tight wraps, and the more we try to analyze what little we know — the more we worry that someone might get shot, or perhaps even die.

It’s beginning to appear that Ryder (Blake Jenner) might be the shooting victim. However, we want to be very clear that we’ve seen no solid evidence of this so far.

Here’s what we do know. Gleek Out Brazil — a Glee spoiler site with a strong track record of accuracy — reports there will be a gunshot at McKinley. Glee’s official episode synopsis only says that “an unthinkable event” occurs at the high school, one that will put everyone’s perspectives in order. Given the title “Shooting Star,” a gunshot at McKinley certainly would make sense.

On March 27, FOX released its official first-look photos for the episode. The photos show Brittany (Heather Morris) looking distraught, and being comforted by Sam (Chord Overstreet). The lights are low. Candles are everywhere. It looks like it might be a vigil of some sort.

In one photo, the entire New Directions gather for a big group hug. Well, almost all of them. We can’t help but notice that Ryder is conspicuously missing. Does this mean he might be the one shot?

Obviously, there are plenty of reasons that Ryder might not be in the room at that moment. This is by no means proof that he was wounded, fatally or otherwise. In addition, both Sugar (Vanessa Lengies) and Joe (Samuel Larsen) are also missing from the photo. Their characters, however, are much more minor, and often disappear for random episodes without anyone really taking notice.

So why are we worried that Ryder might suffer a gunshot wound? It all stems from a tweet Glee creator Ryan Murphy wrote back in January. When a fan asked if there would be more focus on Ryder soon, Ryan said, “Big Ryder story coming. Scary and good.”

A school shooting certainly fits the bill for “scary,” and all the awareness it raises about gun violence in schools could certainly work out as “good.” But even if Ryder does get shot, Ryan calling the story “good” means there is no way he’s going to die!

In case you need more proof, Gleek Out Brazil asserts that no one will get hurt in the shooting. What’s more, a Glee fan named Alexis who visited the set during filming for Episode 20 confirms thatBlake Jenner is still there. Try not to freak out, guys. Ryder will have a “scary” storyline coming up, but his life does not seem to be at risk. It’s all going to work out okay.
