We’ve been hearing about Glee’s infamous Season 4, Episode 4: “The Break-Up” for so long now, it seems strange to think that the official episode summary is only just now being released. Here it is, FOX’s succinct description of what’s about to go down:

Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) are caught off-guard when they get unexpected visits in New York City. Meanwhile, Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) deal with the long distance between them, and Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) disagree on a new job offer in the all-new “The Break Up” episode.

Original airdate: Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 9pm on FOX

If that summary leaves you wanting more, we have been able to uncover a few more relevant details. Producer Brad Falchuk says that the relationships of all four main Glee couples Finchel, Brittana, Klaine, and Wemma — will be shaken to the core, and most likely more than one of them will break up before the night is done.

If you’re super spoiler-inclined, Brad also revealed that THIS couple will break up for sure. Plus, we’re almost certain that THIS couple will end things, as well. We don’t have any confirmation about fate of the other two couples, but we’re hoping that in this case, no news is good news.

Oh, and this is also the episode in which Santana will be showing up at McKinley to serenade Brittany with Taylor Swift’s “Mine.” To say that we’re excited about that could possible be the understatement of the millenium. Also, if Brittana breaks up, we just might bawl our eyes out.

To quote Lea Michele, “Screw that episode, like let’s get it over with.” Let’s just watch it and be done, so we can pick up the pieces of our shattered hearts and slowly start to move on with the world.
