If you’re like us, you’re still feeling a tad depressed that Glee didn’t go on its usual summer tour this year (sob!). However, if you’re in the New York area this fall, you can quell that depression by seeing one Glee’s stars perform in person. Okay, so it’s not quite the same, but it’s something!

Amber Riley (Mercedes) will be making her New York stage debut in Cotton Club Parade, which will run for seven performances from Nov. 14-18 at New York City Center. It will be a revue-style show, paying tribute to the Duke Ellington era at the Harlem nightclub in the ‘20s and ‘30s. The cast includes Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (The Color Purple) and Tony winner Adriane Lenox (Doubt), so Amber will be in very esteemed company.

So if you missed Darren Criss (Blaine) in his Broadway debut earlier this year, now is your chance to see another Glee star onstage. And what exactly will Amber be singing? We don’t know for sure yet, but some of the songs to be performed in the show will include “Stormy Weather” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.” And if you ask us, Amber certainly does have the world on a string!

While this will be Amber’s first time on the New York stage, she has a ridiculous amount of theatre experience, which includes Into the Woods and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also starred in Mystery on the Docks with the Los Angeles Opera. So she can do Shakespeare, musicals, and opera? Talk about range!
