Klaine fans across the fandom gave a collective sigh when Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) sang “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge during tonight’s Glee Season 4, Episode 15: "Girls (and Boys) On Film."
We love almost everything about Moulin Rouge, but “Come What May” just might be the most romantic song of the entire movie. It’s a romantic duet sung by Christian (Ewan McGregor) and Satine (Nicole Kidman) in the hit 2001 movie musical, and Glee’s Kurt and Blaine performed their own version of the famous tune during tonight’s show.
We’ve been hearing about this song for weeks. And we’re not going to lie: The wait has been hard.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy first told fans about the song over a month ago, when he tweeted out a bit of the script. He wrote that the scene would be one of “pure romance,” and we couldn’t wait to finally watch it happen.
Tonight, it happened. Kurt and Blaine stood on the rooftops and passionately sang about their undying love for each other. Of course, we quickly found out that it was all just a dream. Blaine didn’t really fly out to visit Kurt in New York City. Instead, Kurt dreamed the whole thing in his head after a night of watching the movie.
As sad as we might be about that little twist, we still adored every moment of the duet. Klaine duets will always hold a special place in our hearts. Always and forever.
