If you think that being rich and famous gives you a free pass from getting “constructive criticism” from your family members, you’d be wrong — even when you’re an international superstar on Glee.
Cory Monteith (Finn) is looking better than ever these days, and it’s partly a result of some harsh treatment he’s received from his family members — which they delivered while they were in the process of meeting his girlfriend Lea Michele (Rachel) for the first time. “When he brought Lea home to meet his family, they were making fun of him in front of her,” a source tells In Touch Magazine, via Showbiz Spy. Ouch!
Lea’s feelings are so strong for Cory that she wasn’t worried about how he looks, but Cory used the insults as motivation to lose twenty pounds. “She tells him she loves him no matter what, but it was bothering him and he did something about it,” according to the source.
In fact, Lea has been a great influence on his health, as she’s been helping Cory to improve his diet. “She’s vegan and eats organic, and she totally changed his eating habits,” says the source. “He’s exercising, too. He loves the way he looks now.” And we love the way he looks, too — not that we didn’t love him before, mind you.
Cory himself recently ‘fessed up that he’s been trying to cut candy bars out of his life. “I'm doing extra stuff this summer — CrossFit and fewer Snickers bars,” Cory says. Well, we hope he’s still able to indulge in Snickers bars every once in awhile — they aredelicious, after all.
