Glee’s Cory Monteith on Girlfriend Lea Michele: I “Kind of Always” Had Feelings for Her

Cory Monteith (Finn) and Lea Michele (Rachel) have been starring together on Glee — as love interests, at that — for almost four years now, but the two only started dating in real life as recently as this past Valentine’s Day.

So what were things like for the Glee power-couple before they became an item? Ryan Seacrest interviewed Cory on his KIIS FM morning show back on November 8, and the Glee star revealed that his feelings for Lea have been there since the beginning.

“You and your co-star Lea Michele have been working together for a few years,” Ryan said. “So my question is, how do you know when there’s something more? When does it change?”

“Well, I think you just kind of always knew that there was something more,” Cory replied. “I don’t think that that ever really changed, I just think that you just kind of acknowledge it or you don’t, you know? And it changes when you acknowledge it.”

Part of what might have helped Lea to acknowledge her feelings? When she broke up with her Broadway star ex Theo Stockman back in September of last year.

No mention was made of Theo in the interview, but Ryan did press Cory for a bit more details on what got them together. “In your head it was always there,” he said. “Was it always there in her mind, as well?”

“I think so, too, yeah,” Cory replied.

So it may have taken Cory and Lea a while to own up to their feelings, but they’re together now. And one of the most adorable couples ever. Thank goodness the timing was finally right!
