It’s official: Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine) is headed for the big screen! Variety reports that Lionsgate studios has acquired the U.S. distribution rights for Darren’s indie movie, Imogene, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7.

The new flick, which — cougar alert! — stars SNL vet Kristin Wiig as Darren’s love interest filmed last summer, and no theater release date has been announced just yet.

Once it is, though, you can bet we will be pre-ordering our tickets as soon as possible. Because Darren is set to play an up-and-coming singer whose only current gig is channeling his inner teen hearthrob as part of a Backstreet Boys cover band.

And that in itself is something we just have to see.
