Update: Deadline reveals that HBO has picked up the pilot. Sounds like a perfect fit to us!
Move over, Justin Timberlake (actually, don't). Ryan Murphy is officially bringing sexy back! Not only is this television mastermind responsible for projects like Glee (aka The Greatest Show of Our Generation), American Horror Story, and The New Normal, he's at it again — this time with a sexy new drama.
Ryan's teamed up with Dexter's co-executive producer, Lauren Gussis, to shop a script that's all kinds of steamy, and centers on the "exploration of human sexuality and relationships." As you might expect, Ryan's new project isn't cut out for network television, as is likely to end up on a network like HBO or Showtime.
Back in October, we learned that Ryan was in the process of developing two more TV shows, though there’s been no updates yet regarding whether or not those shows made it to the TV pilot stage. He also has a couple of different movies in the works.
Considering that Ryan is physically incapable of creating a bad show, it's hardly surprising that networks are already competing to nab his newest script in time for pilot season, and we can't wait to find out where it lands.
Either way, it looks like Ryan's new project will be slightly more R-rated than Glee...although hopefully there will be a few musical numbers. Because honestly, what's a sex show without spontaneous flash mobs, right guys?
