Update: Gotye has since changed his tune a bit, calling the song "clever" and saying that his original remarks were taken out of context.

While we were swoonin’ ourselves into a tizzy last Tuesday, takin’ in the wonder that was those two dueting Anderson brothers Blaine (Darren Criss) and Cooper (Matt Bomer), one person was not quite so taken with their performance of “Somebody That I Used to Know” – the man behind the hit song!

Gotye has been outspoken about his distaste for the show’s cover, telling papers in his native Australia that the track was minimized to sound “dinky and wrong.”

Ouch!

He told the Sunday Mail, “They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it’s playing to you from a cardboard box.”

Tell us how you really feel, man!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Ours? IT WAS AWESOME! – but with the track climbing the Billboard singles chart post Glee-ification last week, we’re pretty sure we wouldn’t have much room to complain (espesh when our beef against the cover includes deriding a Glee performance because it was in “that Glee style”..... y’know, just a thought.)
