The holidays are upon us, and Gleeks the world over just received their first gift of the season... Damian McGinty’s run as Rory Flanagan on Glee has been extended!

E! Online confirmed that the Glee Project winner ― who had previously expressed to us his hope for more time in the role ― told them, “I found out that I am doing more than seven [episodes]. I don’t know for how long. I’ve learned not to expect anything and just go along with it and work hard and appreciate everything.”

Perhaps that pitch-perfect attitude is one reason he’s been invited to stick around? Or maybe it’s because Rory has the makings of a lasting audience-fave a la Darren Criss (Blaine)! (Cute accent? Dodgeball nose-bleeds? A sweet rendition of Kermit the Frog’s “Bein’ Green”? Yes, yes and YES.) Whatever the reason(s), we’re happily welcoming the extra eps!

Look for McGinty’s run to continue in the Matthew Morrison-directed Glee Season 3 Christmas episode, “Extraordinary Merry Christmas,” on December 13, in which Rory gets homesick as the holidays arrive and strikes up another bromance ― this kid gets around! (...hope Finn isn’t jealous)― with newly-returned Sam (Chord Overstreet) that’s said to be “a cute little storyline.” Excellent!

But what of the lady friends? Now that he’s got more time, we’ve got some potential ideal mates for D (see: Ryan Murphy) to consider, stat!
