Practically the entire Glee universe went into shock after Finn (Cory Monteith) suddenly decided to kiss his former guidance counselor — and his best friend’s fiance — Emma (Jayma Mays) in Season 4, Episode 13: “Diva."

At the time, Emma seemed both surprised and angered by the kiss. But then she went and left Will (Matthew Morrison) at the altar, so we’ve got to wonder: Is it possible that Finn’s kiss did mean something to her? Could a (gasp!) Finn -Emma relationship be coming sometime in the future?

Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively with actress Jayma Mays at the Paley Center event honoring Glee creator Ryan Murphy, and we made sure to ask her that very question.

Luckily for both Finchel fans and Wemma fans, Jayma says she does not see Emma developing any sort of feelings for Finn. “I perceived it as though Finn was kissing her, in a crazy moment for her. She was very stressed for the wedding,” Jayma tells us. “So, no, I don't think the feelings were going much to Finn in that situation.”

But just because Finn and Emma won’t be hooking up any time soon, that doesn’t mean things will go back to normal between Will and Emma. The couple has some serious work to do mending their relationship, but Jayma is hopeful the two will be able to make things work.

“Those two have been meant to be together for a long time,” she says. “I don't think that's over yet.”

However, she still doesn’t know if they will ever get married. “That's a good question for Ryan Murphy,” she told us. “I feel like you should snag him.”

Finally, we simply had to ask Jayma about her upcoming guest appearance on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. The actress guest starred on the show way back in season 1, and she’s returning for the show’s March 18 installment.

“It's a crazy episode — I think they're calling it "The Time Traveler." It was really fun and different for me. I'd never done anything like it before,” she says.

She doesn’t want to give away too much, though. “I don't know if I can really tease anything. I'm coming back as the coat check girl, which is the character I played in the first season.”

Though, just in case you were wondering, Jayma’s character will not be the show’s titular Mother. Ted (Josh Radnor) confirmed as much during a voiceover back in season 1. That’s alright with us, we guess. Mother or not, we’re just excited to see her back on the show!
