Say it ain’t so! After two successful go-’rounds in 2010 and 2011 — the most recent of which brought in over $40 million in sales — the Glee Live! summer concert tour has officially been cancelled for 2012.

"We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer," a spokesman for Glee studio 20th Television tells The Hollywood Reporter.

So while we are a bit disappointed — no fun summer concerts! No silly behind-the-scenes twitpics! No surprise onstage kisses! — we are glad that the Glee cast is finally getting some much-deserved time off.

While filming Glee, cast members regularly work 16 hours a day filming scenes. Sources tell THR that co-creator Ryan Murphy was instrumental in helping get his cast their summer break.

Plus, if you absolutely need to get your Glee concert fix this summer, producers still hope to have a one-night benefit concert to raise funds for the arts education charity Give a Note. We still get a concert and they still get a summer break. Sounds like a win-win to us!

That’s not to say they’ll spend the extra time lounging on a beach in Hawaii, though. With schedules freed up for the summer, Lea Michele (Rachel) and Co. can focus on their potential movie careers... and Darren Criss (Blaine) just might be able to return to Broadway!
