Even during her punk and emo days, Tina has always been Glee’s resident sweetheart. But not anymore! Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to meet Tina the diva.

Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively with Jenna Ushkowitz at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino Party on September 10, and the Glee star told us that exploring Tina’s mean side has been a ton of fun. But — as always — we have a few questions. Namely, will Tina stay like this forever, or will she eventually get back to the soft-hearted girl we know and love?

Plus, Jenna dishes on Glee’s upcoming Britney Spears tribute, Season 4, Episode 2: “Britney 2.0.” Which of the famous Britney tunes will she be belting out? Read on for the full scoop from the Glee star!

Wetpaint Entertainment: What is the race like for Tina to become “The New Rachel”?
Jenna Ushkowitz: There’s definitely some competition. Rachel (Lea Michele) told her last year that she was going to be the New Rachel, but there’s this fight over it because no one else heard that, except for Tina. She definitely gets the crap end of it, I think. But there’s a good fight.

What about competition between her and Marley (Melissa Benoist)? Marley has a killer voice, but Tina has seniority.
Totally. I think Marley is still figuring out where she fits in, so I think Tina definitely has a lot more confidence than her. I don’t think she feels threatened by her just yet. I think she will be, but not just yet.

Will Tina’s diva streak disappear by the end of the first episode?
Ummm…Partially. There’s a streak there. I think it’s going to be a little bit of a phase. I like it! I think it’s really fun! It’s silly and fun to play, so I hope they write for it, and if not, she’s still a softie at heart.

Anything you can tease about upcoming songs?
Tina does a really cool acoustic version of “3” in Britney [2.0] that I’m really excited about. That’s all I can really say.

What can you tell us about the Britney episode in general?
It’s really funny. It’s really raw. It’s pretty honest and we go there — but it’s pretty funny. But we love Britney so it’s all about the love. She’s been so great to give us all of her songs and to come on the show the first year, so I love it.

And lastly, the Great Divide  were you nervous about them taking half the cast members out of high school?
Yes. 100%. It’s definitely hard to take away half your family. You work with them for three years straight, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it was hard. But it’s refreshing to have the new kids in and show them part of our world and the other
guys are still there, so nobody’s gone.

Do you still see them?
Yeah, somewhat. I haven’t seen a lot of them lately because none of us have really been working, but we all keep in touch.
