Jonathan Groff on BFF Lea Michele and Her Boyfriend Cory Monteith — Exclusive

Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) recently called her sometimes Glee co-star Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) her “best friend in the whole world,” so it’s clear that these two are close.

Jonathan and Lea have known each other since their days on Broadway, and when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Jonathan at Morningstar Farm’s ChefDance at the Sundance film festival, we had to ask him about Lea.

As people around munched on a gourmet menu that was paired with cocktails by Zacapa Rum, Jonathan told us about his friendship with Lea — and what he thinks of her relationship with co-star boyfriend Cory Monteith (Finn).

“I think he’s great. I’m so happy they’re together,” Jonathan says. He gushes that the two are “both really wonderful people,” and says that though it’s hard to pinpoint one specific thing that makes them good together, “they’re just a great couple.”

As for what he and Lea do when they hang out, Jonathan says the pals like to keep things simple. “Last week we had dinner, we went to a movie. We just hang out, we do normal stuff.”

What, no spontaneous breaking out into song and dance mid-movie? Oh well. We bet they have a blast together either way.
