Matthew Morrison Reveals Wet Inspiration for "Summer Rain"

If you’re one of those girls hoping that Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schue) would somehow find a way to ask you out, perhaps you should think twice about that. At least that’s what Matthew thinks. The Glee heartthrob told Access Hollywood that he’s quite the bad boyfriend.

“I’m not dating anyone at the moment. I don’t feel like I’m in a good place to be a good boyfriend,” Matt said. “I know how much work it is to be in a relationship and I don’t have that time to put in that work right now.” So... does that mean he’s not dating Olivia Munn, like we originally thought?

In all fairness, he’s pretty busy with Glee, and his upcoming solo album. His first single, “Summer Rain,” was released on March 8, and Matt mentioned it’s about a very special moment from his life.

“It’s kind of about making love on a roof,” he revealed. “I wanted to capture a moment in time that I had with an ex-girlfriend of mine. It was such a beautiful moment, it was about being young and in New York… it was something when I’m 65, I’ll gonna look back on and be like, ‘That was an awesome moment.’ It’s one of those memory burns you have and I really wanted to make a song out of it. It was actually the first song I wrote on the album.”

But would he ever have created this album if it weren’t for Glee? Matt told Artistdirect, “I think Glee has put me in the spotlight where I can do it and do it the right way, with support from label and a machine behind me. There are so many musicians out there, so many of them are so much more talented than I could ever dream of being, that will never have their music played the way mine is played, so I am very lucky and blessed.”
