She may not have won The Glee Project, but that certainly hasn’t stopped her from creating music.

Nellie Veitenheimer, who fans voted as their favorite contender this season in Oxygen’s official contest, released a new single on Saturday, August 18. “Alright everyone. Here it is!! "Lights," an original,” Nellie tweeted. “Really excited to share it.

“Lights” is currently only available on her Bandcamp page, but Nellie wrote on Tumblr that she’s working on getting it up on iTunes, too.

Plenty of Nellie’s Glee Project co-stars have been quick to show their support of her new song on Twitter, including the show’s newly-crowned winner, Blake Jenner.

@nellielisabeth Such an AWESOME song Nellie!!! AHHHH!!!” Blake wrote, just minutes after Nellie tweeted her announcement.

Tyler Ford, however, beat him by just a few minutes, tweeting, “HOORAY! #bestever,” while Lily Mae Harrington later wrote, “Love this song, love this girl. LISTEN UP YO”

Abraham Lim, who will be releasing a cover of David Guetta feat. Sia’s “Titanium” with Nellie sometime soontweeted, “@nellielisabeth absolutely one of the best original tracks I've heard in a while. Remember that tear when I heard it the first time?”

The song is soulful, powerful, and stirring — an emotional showcase of the unique voice that set Nellie apart during her time in the competition. What do you think of the finished tune?
