There’s no doubt that Glee fans are waiting with bated breath for the upcoming release of Struck by Lightning, the feature film that Chris Colfer (Kurt) both wrote and stars in. The newest trailer for the film will make you even more excited about it than you already were (if that’s even possible).
A new trailer is now available for Struck by Lightning, which will be available on-demand on December 19th (best Christmas present ever!) and in theaters in January. The film stars Chris as a high school student and aspiring New Yorker editor who blackmails his fellow students into contributing to his literary magazine. Blackmail? Okay. Whatever it takes, right?
We think this new trailer is both hilarious and touching, and is even better than the first trailer that came out earlier this year! We love that Chris proves he can take on a very different role from Kurt, and we’re also excited that there are some Cheerio-esque cheerleaders in the movie, who deliver snappy insults like how someone “smells like gluten.” Ouch.
But we really didn’t need a trailer to convince us to see this movie, since everything Chris touches basically turns to gold. Plus, the supporting cast is stellar, including Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson as Chris’ character’s best friend (love her!), Allison Janney as his mom, and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland as a rival student.
And if you just can’t wait for the movie to come out, Chris has written a book adaptation of the film that will be released on Nov. 20. Mark your calendars, and stock up on gluten!
