Finn’s (Cory Monteith) mama has a new gig!

Deadline reports that occasional Glee guest-star Romy Rosemont (Carole Hudson-Hummel) has been added to the cast of a new pilot for NBC entitled Downwardly Mobile. The show is the new starring vehicle for sitcom vet Roseanne Barr, who plays the main character of Rose, the manager of a mobile home park who becomes a “surrogate mother to the unique people who live there in a challenging economy.”

Ms. Hudson-Hummel – err, Ms. Rosemont – has been cast in the role of Sheila, a resident who works as a nurse on the “death floor” of a nursing home.

Sounds… interesting?

But most importantly, if the show gets picked up, will it mean less screen time for Mrs. H-H?

We’d guess… No!

Consider this: Romy has appeared as Finn’s mother in just 12 eps of Glee since 2009 – according to IMDB – as compared to her on-screen hub Mike O’Malley (Burt Hummel), who has clocked a total of 35. In that time, Mike’s also racked up a guest-starring spot in the first season of Parenthood, and roles in films like Eat Pray LoveCedar Rapids, and the just-completed R.I.P.D.

That means there’s plenty of time for her to re-appear on Glee – which is good, because we have a feeling Finn’s gonna need some love as he traverses his first post-HS year of life…
