Out Magazine's Power 50 List: Which Glee Cast Member Made the List, and Which Was Snubbed?
If you ask the editors of Out, they'll tell you that Glee is one heck of a powerful show — and who are we to disagree? The magazine has released its sixth annual "Power 50" list, a ranking of the 50 most powerful public figures, from politicians to entertainers. So it's no surprise that a show as popular as Glee was well-represented: Creator Ryan Murphy clocked in at a very impressive #4, with Jane Lynch (Sue) squeaking onto the list at #47. Even Season 1 guest star Neil Patrick Harris (Bryan Ryan) was in the mix, coming in at #11.
Among the other notable names on the list were Ellen Degeneres at #2, Bravo's Andy Cohen at #10, and True Blood creator Alan Ball at #37. Apple CEO Tim Cook took the top spot.
And while we're happy for Jane and Ryan, we couldn't help but angrily curiously wonder: Where the heck is Glee star Chris Colfer (Kurt)?! Not only is the guy killing it weekly on Glee, but his film, Struck by Lightning — which he wrote and stars in, thank you very much — just recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. If that's not power, we don't know what is.
