The NYADA auditions are quickly approaching — and with all the nerves building up for such a future-defining moment, is it possible that one of the two hopefuls might freeze on stage? Better prepare yourselves, Glee fans. Because, based on this preview from May 1’s Glee Season 3, Episode 18: “Choke,” it appears that either Rachel or Kurt does exactly that.

Scene 1a: Rachel Berry sits up in bed.
The alarm clock goes off. Gigantic curlers cling to her head. Rachel looks as serious and determined as she has ever been. “My whole life has led me to this moment.”

Scene 1b: They’ve trained.
Finn (Cory Monteith) helps Rachel (Lea Michele) practice acting techniques in her bathroom mirror.
Finn: “Happy!” Rachel: Grins perkily.
Finn: “Sad.” Rachel: Frowns noticeably
Perfect! She’s a shoe-in at NYADA.

Scene 1c: They’ve analyzed.
Kurt (Chris Colfer) paces back and forth across the McKinley stage. “We need something fresh and unpredictable.”

Wait. Does this mean that a Phantom of the Opera number is out? Because we love that cape-and-mask ensemble he’s got on. And what about all those awesome candelabras in the background! We don’t care what the actual song spoilers have revealed. Please change your mind and do the Phantom song, Kurt. Please!

Scene 2a: Are they ready for the audition that could...
Rachel sits at the makeup counter. Her chance to audition for NYADA appears to be just moments away. Flash to the auditorium. Finn, Kurt, Blaine (Darren Criss), and Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) are all sitting in the audience to support her.

Scene 2b: … CHANGE their lives?
Rachel gives Kurt a spritz of water before heading on stage. We love her gorgeous curls and his dapper attire. It looks to be from “The Rain in Spain” from My Fair Lady. However, we now know that it's the glee club boys who will peform their own unique rendition of that classic Broadway song.

Now Rachel’s on stage, belting out a confident version of one of her favorite songs: “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” as sung by Barbra Streisand in the musical Funny Girl. What could possibly go wrong?

Scene 2c: Oh, wait. This.
Rachel freezes on stage. She panics; raises her hands to her temples. A look of sheer horror crosses her face.

Scene 3a: The NYADA judge speaks.
“This audition is over.” Over? What does she mean OVER? Doesn’t she know that Rachel Berry is auditioning for NYADA? Rachel Berry is meant to go to NYADA! It can’t just be over.

Scene 3b: Oh, fudge.
Fudge is right. Because sadly, it looks like Rachel really did just bomb her audition. Oh, and in other news, did anyone else happen to notice that the NYADA judge is WHOOPI freaking GOLDBERG? And did you see her purple outfit? Carmen Tibideaux is going to be amazing.

Scene 4a: Guess who else is back?
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s NeNe Leakes (Coach Roz). And she and Sue (Jane Lynch) appear to finally be teaming up. Sue: “You’ve got a problem on your hands, William. And Black Sue and Original Recipe Sue are gonna take care of it.”

As amazing as this promo was, it still didn’t manage to nearly cover everything that’s set to happen this episode. What about Puck (Mark Salling)? And the arrival of Puck’s dad. Or his cool dirt bike scene. Or that upcoming flirty scene we’ve been hearing about. There’s still so much more going on!

So... is is May 1 yet?
