If you’ve seen the promo for next week’s Glee Season 4, Episode 4: “The Break-Up,” then you know that we’re in for quite an emotional ride. Couples seem to be breaking up right and left. Relationships are crumbling. All we can do is sit back and watch.

So who is breaking up, exactly? We’ve combed through the promo: second-by-second, frame-by-frame, in search of clues. Here’s a look at what we’ve discovered.

00:01 Finn’s (Cory Monteith) back!
He made his shocking return at the tail end of Season 4, Episode 3: “Makeover,” and now Finn and his storyline will be front and center for many episodes to come. Dressed in all black, Finn walks slowly to the middle of an empty stage. We hear him singing Coldplay’s mournful “The Scientist” in the background.

00:03 Rachel (Lea Michele) looks at Finn, confused and distraught.
“Why are you here?” she asks. “And why aren’t you in your uniform?” Interesting. Because we bet he has some questions for her, too. Like, Who is that new guy? and Why were you making out with him?

00:06 — Will (Matthew Morrisonhas some big news for Emma (Jayma Mays).
“I’m officially on the blue ribbon panel.” Congrats, Will. Off to D.C. for you! Now, who could you ever find to fill in for a few months as glee club director while you’re gone? Oh, wait...

00:08 — Emma, however, is not quite as happy as he is.
“I didn’t know you’d expect me to drop my entire life.” So does that mean she’s not coming to D.C. with him? What will this mean for their future... and the wedding?

00:10 — Look! Jarley!
Our very favorite new not-so-couple is hanging out. Will somebody just hurry up and get Jake (Jacob Artist) and Marley (Melissa Benoist) together already? We’re dying to see them as a couple.

00:11 — Marley has a few words for Jake.
What she says is, “I really don’t like that Kitty girl. I can’t believe you do.” What she means is, You should really date me, instead. Come on, Marley. Just get up the guts and say it!

00:14 — Blaine and Kurt are in the park at night.
Oh, no. It’s the break up scene! The one in the park in New York City where everyone is singing No Doubt’s breakup tune, “Don’t Speak.” Is this really happening? Is Klaine really over for good? Why???

00:15 — Kurt (Chris Colferturns to Blaine (Darren Criss).
“So you’re saying that there’s nothing wrong?” If only. Not so fast...

00:16 — Blaine is in tears.
“I’m really sorry.” Is that it? Did they break up?

00:17 — Kurt puts his hand over his mouth. He runs away, sobbing.
That definitely looked like a break up to us! Please tell us that there’s something more to the story. This can’t really be the end, can it?

00:19 — Finn, Will, and Emma are all on stage.
They’re all singing the Coldplay song. Things really don’t look good for the state of any of the relationship on this show!

00:21 — Rachel and Finn are having a big blow-out.
It looks like they’re back at McKinley, standing on the stage. “You were my first love!” she yells to him. He looks down at the ground. She looks up at him, her eyes fill with tears. “But I can’t do this anymore.” Is that another break up? It sure sounded like it.

That’s the end of the promo, but we didn’t get to see anything about Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera). From what we’ve heard, their relationship will be just as much on the rocks as all the others. Will any couple actually make it through this episode unscathed? We don’t know if our hearts will be able to take so many painful breakups.

Now, if you’ll excuse us: We have to go stock up on tissues, ice cream, and copious amounts of chocolate. Next week is going to turn us all into emotional wrecks!
