So far, it feels like we’ve only gotten a glimpse of Samuel Larsen — and his guitar-playing, ex-home schooler Joe Hart — on Glee so far, but all that is about to change when new episodes return on April 10!
Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Samuel at Perez Hilton’s birthday party over the weekend, and the dreadlocked cutie told us he can’t wait for fans to see what big changes are in store for McKinley’s newest transfer student.
Plus, while Samuel couldn’t confirm what happens to Quinn (Dianna Agron) after her horrific car accident, he didn’t exactly offer a ringing endorsement of a full recovery. Gulp.
What’s going on with your character Joe? Are you going to continue on the show?
We’ve been filming a lot. I know we’re off air right now but we’ve been filming a lot and I’m really really excited about where the character Joe is going. They’ve been writing a lot of really cool stuff that I really believe in. I’m aching for everyone to see what we’ve been working on. I’m really proud of it.
Can you give us any teasers on what’s going to happen with the character?
This is what I’ll say. Joe is a very sheltered kid and he’s figuring out who he is. It’s really cool. That’s all I’ll say. It’s some juicy stuff.
So far, you’ve only been in two of the guaranteed 7 episodes. Can we expect to see you in more than that?
Are you meeting with producers to figure out exactly how long you’re going to be on or is it kind of indefinite at this point?
I mean I’m definitely going past the 7 episodes I was guaranteed but the way the character’s going and how much they’ve been writing for me, I’m really just hoping that they’ll pick up my option to be a series regular for next year. I’ve heard from a lot of people that could very well happen. [...] I love the show and I love being there and I wanna help Glee become the best it can be and I want to be part of that.
Are you working on your own music right now, too?
Yeah, oh yeah. I’ve got a couple of bands that I’m working on. The one I’m really excited about, we’re called London The Child. It’s folky music and it’s really cool.
Are you doing shows around LA?
I think come summer we’re gonna start jamming everywhere.
What do you think about the current Glee storyline? The last episode ended in a really big cliffhanger.
Yeah. Dianna [Agron (Quinn)] got in a big car accident which is crazy and that is a huge cliffhanger and I can’t tell you what happens but I think everyone will be shocked when they find out what actually happens.
Shocked as in mad... Or sad?
All of the above. Everyone’s going to be feeling everything and it’s really cool. I know it’s been crazy because I keep forgetting that only 2 of my episodes have aired because I’ve been filming non-stop since we went off air.
So a ton of things have happened since Glee last left off?
Yeah! The story – I know so much and I’m so excited about where my character is going and where the whole story is going but I think all I can do is – yes shameless plug – you gotta keep watching. It’s going so well.
Do you relate to your character at all in real life?
Yeah. It’s weird. Joe and myself – the core of who we are and our beliefs and what makes us like who we are is very very similar. The way we approach it in real life is completely different, which is awesome, because it makes it really fun to be someone else.
