We loved it when Finn (Cory Monteith) took Rory (Damian McGinty) under his wing early on in the foreign exchange student’s time at McKinley High. But by the end of Season 3, Episode 9, “Extraordinary Merry Christmas,” it was clear Rory had something special goin' on with another Glee guy: Sam (Chord Overstreet).
And we can understand why! While Finn had a sweet, protective older brother way of interacting with Rory, Sam is like the cool older brother that lets you take a sip of his beer when the parents aren’t looking. Or, agrees to show you how to woo the ladies — as depicted in that final scene of this year’s holiday-themed ep — even if his advice isn’t necessarily the best (again with the Sean Connery impersonations? Really, Sam?).
Though we’re just happy to have Rory around more, we like the idea of someone helping him to grow and be a part of the McKinley High family rather than just some occasional Irish relief.
And with Finn all lovey-dovey with Rachel and sorting out his post-graduation plans, is Sam the best man for the job? Or is the Finn-Rory bromance as much a positive thing for Finn('s maturity and manhood) as it is for Rory?
