So, Sam (Chord Overstreet) officially made his pledge to Mercedes (Amber Riley) that he would fight to get her back — despite her “big... bad” boyfriend, Shane (LaMarcus Tinker) — in Season 3, Episode 8, “Hold On to Sixteen.” Ooh, thems fightin’ words! (Oh, wait — guess that was the point.)

And since we already know Sam’s mission to woo will extend through the holidays, we’re guessing it won’t be as easy for Mercedes to walk away from him as it was this week. So in anticipation of her (enviable) dilemma... we’ve come up with a preliminary Pros and Cons list for each boyfriend — past and present.

PROS: Cute, SUPER supportive, protective, makes her feel like the star that she is.

CONS: Maybe a little too supportive and protective? He did encourage Mercedes to go all-out competitive mode for the school musical lead... which eventually led to her departure from the New Directions. Where’s he been since? Darn rabble rouser...

PROS: SUPER cute, he’s about enjoying high school — not stressing out about it (per his speech to Quinn (Dianna Agron) at the beginning of the ep), his “magic sex dance” is, indeed, magical, sees what he wants and GOES for it!

CONS: Goes for it... maybe a little too hard? You have to question a guy who doesn’t see a problem with pursuing a girl who has a boyfriend. Wasn’t he the one who got his heart broken by Quinn after she cheated on him with Finn (Cory Monteith) in Season 2?

We’re sure Glee will provide us with a ton more reasons in favor of both — namely, THIS — but, now that we’ve had our first serving of Chord in Season 3, we think it’s fair to ask:
