Before Broadway: Darren Criss Teases “Crazy” Scenes in Glee’s Michael Jackson Episode
Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson) is currently in the middle of his three week-long run replacing Daniel Radcliffe in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway, but worry not Blaine fans; he'll only be missing one or two episodes of Glee.
Plus, before he peaced out of L.A. for a while, Darren was heavily featured in the Michael Jackson tribute episode — something Darren said he wasn’t expecting.
"I thought that before I was going to leave, they might write Blaine out just to make things easier on everybody," he told E! Online. "Nope! Right before I left, Blaine had a lot of really cool things to do for the Michael Jackson episode.”
“When you see that episode, I shot all my stuff in four days. It was quick! It was a shotgun of crazy, exhausting stuff and it was both a thrill — because you really wanna do justice to these awesome songs — but frustrating, because I wanted it to be perfect and amazing. So hopefully they cut it right."
So, for now, Darren's doing his song and dance thang on the Great White Way and loving every minute of it. But, he did express regret that he'd be missing the big Ricky Martin/Gloria Estefan Latin episode over on the Glee set. And, what's worse, he'll be missing Ricky Martin altogether, because the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer will be going to Broadway as soon as Darren leaves.
"We'll be ships passing in the night. He'll be coming to New York to be doing Evita. It's a big Latin episode with Gloria Estefan. But hey, if I'm going to miss something like that at least it's for something like this."
We couldn't have said it better.
