We’re not sure if anybody expected her to go home this early.

23-year-old Florida girl Dani Shay quickly emerged as a fan favorite on Season 2 of The Glee Project, and she made quite a few friends among the cast, as well. So when the mentors announced their decision to eliminate her from the competition just two episodes into the season, many people were understandably shocked.

Plenty of Dani’s Glee Project castmates were quick to tweet out their responses to her sad departure.

Not even a minute after the episode finished airing, Ali Stroker tweeted, “That was one of the hardest days of the competition. I can't believe @danishay had to go”

She continued, “I spent and hour in the arms @nellielisabeth sobbing after that happened....” before finishing, “@danishay I think you are so special. I can't wait to watch you take over the world.... Lets do it together k? :)”

Lily Mae Harrington echoed her sentiments, tweeting, “Hardest goodbye ever @danishay” while Aylin Bayramoglu wrote, “That was too sad... =(”

Mario Bonds tweeted, “OMG DANI, THIS EARLY, I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT! WTH”

Shanna Henderson tweeted, “@danishay @ALISTROKER "I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine" ‪#tears‬‪#TheGleeProjectproblems‬”

Tyler Ford wrote, "Dani's "Keep Holding On" sounds AMAZING. @danishay love you!"

Abraham Lim tweeted, "@danishay you're already such a voice for this generation. We're lucky to have your voice, girl." He soon added, "@danishay I will never forget our hug in that choir room. I love you."

Even eliminated contender Maxfield Camp chimed in, writing, “Aw @danishay your one of my the best friends i have and just an amazing person.. Very proud of you”
