This week’s Glee did not disappoint, as it was packed with crazy twists and jaw-dropping moments — especially with everyone swapping clothes and hairdos! Here are our picks for the top five OMG moments from Season 3, Episode 20: “Props,” and Episode 21: “Nationals.”
5. Guest appearances from Snooki and The Situation!
Halloween came early this year, as we got a hilarious glimpse of Klaine as the Jersey Shore’s two craziest cast members: Snooki and The Situation. Bada-bing! Obviously, we would have much preferred to have seen Blaine’s (Darren Criss) actual abs, rather than just that airbrushed T-shirt that he had on, but we’ll take what we can get. (Maybe the “G” in GTL stands for “glee”?)
4. Beiste moves on — thanks to New Directions.
It was nice to see Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones) finally get the courage to leave Cooter (Eric Bruskotter), but it was even better knowing that Beiste found strength from a Santana (Naya Rivera)-Mercedes (Amber Riley)-Brittany (Heather Morris) pep talk, along with a hug — and a rubber weapon of mass destruction — from Puck (Mark Salling). Beiste has been amazing this season, and it’s been awesome that she’s gotten substantial post-football airtime (unlike in Season 2). Don’t worry, Beiste: You’ll always be a badass to us.
3.Team Changberry for the win!
It was fun to see Lindsay Lohan, but the guest star who really impacted the plot was Whoopi Goldberg, whose Carmen Tibideaux surprised us by popping up at the last second at Nationals, following some uber-cute Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz)-and-Rachel (Lea Michele) moments that led Rachel to confront Carmen in person. [And let’s not forget Jesse St. James’ (Jonathan Groff) awesome plea on Rachel’s behalf!] Personally, if we were Carmen, we would have preferred the muffin basket that Rachel supposedly sent, but not everyone is as tiny-muffin crazy as we are.
2. Two words: Body. Swap!
Unless you’ve hit your head, you’ll definitely agree: This week’s body-swap scenes were some of the funniest Glee scenes of all time, and we probably could have watched the body-swapping go on for another hour or two (or ten). We loved it all, particularly Blaine proving that everybody looks ridiculous with a mohawk, and Kurt (Chris Colfer) giving his assessment of Rachel’s rack. Maybe Schue (Matthew Morrison) should try rocking the tracksuit more often? Then again, maybe not.
1. New Directions wins the Nationals trophy... and Schue gets his own prize.
Could this week’s episodes really have ended any other way? Hell to the no! After watching New Directions lose to the competition for the past two seasons, it was finally their time to shine as the gang finally won Nationals — and the respect of the school. (No more slushies? Say what?!) We also loved the Brittana and Finchel kisses (although the lack of a Klaine kiss is so not cool). And all Schue had to do to get physical with Emma (Jayma Mays) was win a national title and “Teacher of the Year”? Sounds easy enough to us.
