After witnessing firsthand how kind and accepting Kurt, Mercedes, and the rest of the New Directions were during Nationals on Glee last year, Vocal Adrenaline’s star performer Unique (Alex Newell) revealed that she just might want to transfer schools.

Sure enough, when Glee’s Season 4 premiere rolled around, McKinley High School found itself with a brand new student. And why not? As far as storylines go, Season 1 Glee Project runner-up Alex Newell’s Wade “Unique” Adams is like none we’ve ever seen on Glee before.

Unique might not have been chosen as the new leader of McKinley’s glee club, but, based on that performance of “Call Me Maybe” — not to mention the awesomeness that was Unique’s turn at Nationals last year — we get the feeling that she’s not going to be just another background singer.

Not everyone who watches Glee is a fan of Alex, though. The actor pointed out on Twitter recently that it’s really difficult when assume his TV persona will is what he’s like in real life. All we can say is: Haters gonna hate, ballers gonna ball!

So now that you’ve seen Glee’s first episode, what do you think of McKinley’s newest diva? Are you loving the chance to explore Unique’s storyline — or do you wish she’d stayed with Vocal Adrenaline?
