Prepare yourselves, Glee fans, because Disney’s upcoming animated film Frozen is turning into a Vocal Adrenaline reunion!
Jonathan Groff, who plays Vocal Adrenaline singer-turned-coach Jesse St. James on Glee, will be voicing the male lead in the musical adventure Frozen, which is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Snow Queen and will be released in November of 2013.
Also a member of the voice cast? None other than Idina Menzel, who played Glee’s Shelby Corcoran, a.k.a. Rachel’s (Lea Michele) birth mother and the coach of Vocal Adrenaline before defecting to McKinley. Crazy! The female lead will be voiced by Kristen Bell.
In the film, Jonathan will voice an adventurous mountain man named Kristoff. He and his reindeer friend (and who among us doesn’t have a reindeer friend?) team up with Kristen’s character Anna to find her sister Elsa (Idina!), who has the ability to control the wintry weather.
J-Groff hasn’t shown his pretty face on Glee yet this season, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t stayed busy. He had appeared on the most recent season of the Starz drama Boss, though the show was cancelled as recently as this November.
We only wish that Frozen would come out sooner than next winter, since we can’t wait to see it. Of course, it would also be nice if Idina and Jonathan would pop in on Glee one of these days, but we suppose that seeing their animated selves is the next best thing.
