Just who is Darren Criss, who will make his debut this week as Blaine in Episode 2.4, “Never Been Kissed”? As it turns out, the guy’s been keeping busy. He already had hits on YouTube, TV, and the Billboard charts. The guy has so much talent, he’s starting to make us depressed!

Darren, who’s half-Filipino and half-Irish, grew up in San Francisco, California, and graduated last year from the University of Michigan. He first made a name for himself by starting StarKids Productions with fellow theater students at Michigan. They produced the Harry Potter spoofs — A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel — which he co-wrote the songs for and starred in. Collectively, the videos have gained over 25 million views. Damn, those Harry Potter fans are almost as rabid as Gleeks! Almost.

Glee isn’t Darren’s first television show. He played Josh on last season’s Eastwick and also appeared in an episode of Cold Case. Better yet, his self-produced album was released this summer and even appeared on the Billboard charts. We certainly won’t be referring to him as a slacker anytime soon!

As Blaine, he’ll play a gay student who had to leave his last school due to bullying and ends up at an all-boys school. He’s a year older than Kurt and is more comfortable with his sexuality. Can’t wait to see if Blaine casts a spell on Kurt! (See what we did there?)
