Lea Michele (Rachel) has plenty of close celebrity pals: from her Glee co-stars Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) to friends like The Sopranos’ Jaime-Lynn Sigler and American Horror Story’s Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
Yet when it comes to Lea’s best best friend, the person she feels closest to isn’t a celebrity at all. It’s fellow 20th Century Fox TV employee Stephanie Herman.
“@steph_hart you are the greatest best friend a girl could ever ask for! Had the best time tonight.. Love you so much! #girlsnight” Lea tweeted on November 26.
Lea often tweets photos of herself and Stephanie headed to awards shows or events, and the two were inseparable on the night of Lea’s 26th birthday back in August, when they hit the town in Los Angeles with a couple of pals.
Just this past weekend, Lea and Steph stayed in for a low-key girls night of “yummy food” and watching Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” movie, which the Glee star happily tweeted about.
On December 3, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Stephanie had just been promoted to 20th Century Fox TV’s VP Casting. She began working for Fox as an assistant after graduating from UC Davis, and has since had had what her boss Sharon Klein calls a “meteoric” rise. This includes helping to book stars like Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, and giving Krysten Ritter her lead role in ABC’s Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt 23.
Lea’s boyfriend, Cory Monteith (Finn), tweeted about the promotion, saying, “yay! @steph_hart congrats!” Lea quickly chimed in, “So proud of my bset friend @steph_hart for being promoted today to Vice President of #FOX casting!!! Everyone send her lots of love!!!!”
