There are so many amazing singers on Glee that picking the best ones is certainly not for the faint of heart. Still, we decided to step up to the plate and rank our top six female vocalists on the show. Do you agree, or do you think our choices are unforgivable? Let us know!
And don’t forget to check out our picks for the Top 5 Best Male Singers on Glee. It’s a list of five guys who are easy on the eyes and the ears — what could be wrong with that?
6. Tina Cohen-Chang
We’re not happy that Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) doesn’t get too much time in the spotlight, but when she does, we’re always impressed. This is particularly true of her duets like “Dogs Days are Over” with Mercedes (Amber Riley), or last season’s “L-O-V-E” with Mike (Harry Shum Jr.). Come to think of it, “O” is for the way we feel Tina is often “overlooked” by the show!
5. Quinn Fabray
We want more of Quinn (Dianna Agron) on the show in any capacity, but we especially want to hear more of her singing. Quinn has had some pretty special numbers, like her completely fabulous “I Feel Pretty”/“Unpretty” duet with Rachel (Lea Michele), or last season’s “Take My Breath Away.” And yes, Quinn’s voice does take our breath away every time we hear it.
4. Mercedes Jones
Is there any doubt that Mercedes would be on this list? We sadly haven’t heard much of her powerful pipes this season, but she has routinely blown us away before, as anyone who heard last season’s “I Will Always Love You” would agree. We miss a lot about the fact that Mercedes isn’t on the show much — with Samcedes being an example — but we miss her voice the most!
3. Marley Rose
There's a lot of pressure in joining New Directions right after Rachel left, but Marley (Melissa Benoist) has more than held her own. Her voice is surprisingly powerful on tunes like “Chasing Pavements” and her duet of “Holding Out for a Hero.” New Directions might be missing Rachel’s voice, but it’s definitely in good hands as long as Marley is around — and conscious.
2. Santana Lopez
Santana’s (Naya Rivera) amazing vocal prowess is as undeniable as her lightning-quick wit. Of course, our favorite memories of Santana’s singing are based around moments with Brittany, like when she belted “Songbird” to her. But she’s had plenty of other amazing songs, like “Smooth Criminal” with Sebastian (Grant Gustin). Who hasn’t been struck by a smooth criminal Santana’s voice?
1. Rachel Berry
Not much suspense about the top slot, right? You could easily make a case for any number of the other ladies as being the best, but it’s hard to deny Rachel. And it’s also not easy to narrow down just a couple of her performances as our favorites, but “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me” are definite standouts, as is “Faithfully” with Finn (Cory Monteith). And if you want to be the one to tell Rachel that she’s not the best singer, be our guest — because we sure don’t!
