During April 17’s  Season 3, Episode 16: “Saturday Night Glee-ver,” we finally got the chance to see the final Glee Project Season 1 winner take his rightful place on the Glee screen.

But not only did we get to meet Alex Newell’s (Wade), a mild-mannered Carmel High School student and Vocal Adrenaline member... But we also came face to face with his sassy and confident alter-ego, Unique.

You see, where the sometimes-timid Wade doesn’t always have the courage to say exactly what he’s feeling, his beautiful (and high heel-loving) alter-ego, Unique, does.

After seeking the advice of Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Kurt (Chris Colfer), Wade ultimately decides to perform as Unique — glitter, sequins, and all — at Vocal Adrenaline’s next performance. Coach Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) isn’t impressed, but the audience certainly is.

Better watch out, New Directions! Wade and Vocal Adrenaline are your competition at Nationals this year. And based on Alex’s amazing performance of “Boogie Shoes,” we’d say you’d definitely better bring it this year if you want to take home that Nationals win!
