This might be the most depressing Christmas ever. In Season 4, Episode 10: “Glee, Actually,”  Burt (Mike O’Malley) flew to New York to tell Kurt (Chris Colfer) some big news: he has prostate cancer.

Glee, you have GOT to stop doing this to us! I know we said a while ago that someone on Glee should die, but we take it back! Not if it means we lose Burt, the best dad in the history of television, EVER.

What has us really worried is that Burt has already had one health scare with his heart attack in Season 2, Episode 3: “Grilled Cheesus.” Usually, in the land of television, you only get to dodge the Grim Reaper one time. If you have a second health scare, it almost always means you’re a goner. And when we think too hard about that we just can’t. even. deal.

Nevertheless, Burt does say they found his cancer early and his prognosis is good. This is one of those times where we’re gonna be totally okay with another miraculous recovery. Do you hear that, Glee writers? Feel free to rectify this Christmas nightmare, and fast.
