Grant Gustin made his Glee debut in Season 3, Episode 5, “The First Time,” as the latest porcelain-skinned gay to hit Lima, Ohio, Sebastian Smyth. Love him, or hate him, the waves this new Warbler (and Blaine-chaser) is making on Glee will be around for a bit. We will see him again in next week's Episode 8 where, Grant assures, his interactions with Blaine (Darren Criss)’s boyfriend won’t be quite so nice.
"I am straight up in your face and rude to Kurt," he told E! Online. ""We tell each other exactly how we feel about each other. It is a very fun interaction.”
Obviously, the great majority of Gleeks are hatin' on the idea of Sebastian breaking up Klaine, but, uh, maybe lay off those creepy threatening tweets to Grant, you guys? He's just an actor. Glee isn't real (we promise).
"People are like, ‘If you break up Klaine, I will find you and I will kill you.' And I'm like, 'Wow, I could potentially need bodyguards," he fretted. Now, team, is that the warm, McKinley High Welcome we give newcomers?
Grant admits, though, that he has gotten some positive feedback from a few villain-championing fans who are supportive of SeBlaine — and from the looks of it, many of our readers are, too! There's even a tiny faction of fans who want to see the tables turn and watch Kurt and Sebastian wind up together. Quelle scandal!
In any case, we can't possibly hate Grant because he’s as bitten by the Glee bug as we are. "I don't want to mess this character up, because it is a highly anticipated character and on the highest profiled show that there is, so I'm tingling with nerves,” he said of his debut week. “I'm very anxious to see how people respond to Sebastian because I could not be more grateful [...] I just don't want to mess it up."
Now, see? Couldn't you just sip caramel macchiatos in the Lima Bean with him all day?
