The coiffures. The blazers. The Katy Perry covers. The Warblers were no doubt missed by some Glee fans in Tuesday night’s Season 3 premiere, their absence resulting from Blaine (Darren Criss)’s decision to join New Directions.

Is it just us, or does Kurt (Chris Colfer)’s boyfriend seem a lot happier now that he’s freed himself from the musical (and sartorial) restrictions of Dalton Academy? Sure, being closer to Kurt might have something to do with it, but Blaine’s McKinley High debut was nothing short of a declaration of fashion independence:

Those red pants and white woven belt, that fitted polo paired with coordinating repp bowtie, and the DC’s signature colored wayferers (yellow this time) — he wasn’t just a sight for Kurt’s sore eyes. Of course we will miss the two-tone suit-sporting tenors, but we’re completely smitten with this hipster twist to the preppy wears of Blaine’s former glee club.

What do YOU think, Gleeks? Are you digging the emancipation of Blaine’s wardrobe this season? Or is there only room for one McKinley High fashionisto (Kurt) in your heart?
