Finn 2.0: Newbie Ryder (Blake Jenner)
19-year-old Blake Jenner was a fan favorite on The Glee Project all season long, so viewers were thrilled to see him win the competition and secure the coveted 7-episode guest spot on Glee. With his athletic build and All-American good looks, Blake would be perfect as a high school jock. In fact, Glee creator Ryan Murphy even said that he was looking for someone like Blake to fill the jock slot left open, now that most athletic characters in the glee club have graduated.
Why He’s a Carbon Copy: Blake has said in interviews that Cory Monteith (Finn) was his favorite Glee Project mentor, and he recently told us that he “would definitely want to be a Finn-type character.” Ryan Murphy recently tweeted that he’s writing lots of scenes for Ryder and Finn, fueling speculation that Ryder might turn out to be Finn’s half-brother on his father’s side!
Why He Might Be Different: They couldn’t possibly introduced two younger half-brothers, could they? Talk about overkill. One character suddenly discovering the younger half-brother he never knew he had is implausible enough — but two of them making that shocking discovery?
