Here’s another former Glee Project contender. Back when Alex Newell (Wade aka Unique) was competing on Season 1, Ryan said he pictured him as a combination of both Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Kurt (Chris Colfer). So, when Alex showed up in the final few episodes of Glee Season 3, who do you think became fast BFFs? Mercedes and Kurt, of course. Now that those two have both graduated from high school, Wade has decided to transfer to McKinley High School and join the New Directions.

Why He Might Be Different: Kurt may have a flair for fashion, but unlike Unique, it’s never been dream goal to perform in drag. As Wade, he’s more like Kurt. As Unique, he’s more like a sparklier, more sequin-covered Mercedes. But he’s never really the two of them at once.
