Kristin is an acclaimed singer, actress, and author. In 1999, she won Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Sally in the Broadway revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She returned to Broadway in 2003 as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, in Wicked. She lost the 2004 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical to her co-star Idina Menzel, who played Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. She was robbed! She also earned Drama Desk and Drama League Award nominations. From December 2006 to March 2007, she starred in The Apple Tree, also on Broadway, and again received Drama Desk and Drama League Award nominations. Off Broadway, she has appeared in numerous movies and television series, including The West Wing (two seasons) and Pushing Daisies (two seasons). For the latter performance, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2009, she added a Satellite Award (for Outstanding Guest Star for her part in Glee) to her collection. Because she really hasn't amassed enough acting accolades yet!

In April 2009, Kristin released a memoir about her life called A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages, which details her adoption, her turn in Wicked, and her time in Hollywood. After coming out, it spent two weeks on The New York Times Best Seller List. Not bad!

Random factoid: Kristin is a classically trained soprano with a vocal range of four octaves. She has released three albums: "Let Yourself Go" (2001), "As I Am" (2004), "A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas" (2008)
