Glee’s Darren Criss: Blaine Becomes a “Meanie” In Season 4

Is Blaine (Darren Criss) about to get a whole new ‘tude? Say it ain’t so!

Darren tells Billboard that Blaine isn’t going to be Mr. Nice Guy as often as he used to be. “Blaine's like a meanie now,” Darren says. “I read the first script and I was like, ‘Why's Blaine so feisty?’ I think the writers were getting bored with Blaine being nice.” But what if we weren’t bored with Blaine being nice? What about us?

We’re not really sure what to make of all this, but you can imagine that we’re a little shocked at the idea of Blaine the Bully. And what exactly will he be doing that makes him such a “meanie”? We’re not exactly sure, although Darren does say that Blaine will suddenly become “really competitive.” Darren goes on to say, “Maybe Kurt’s gone and the gloves are off.” Yikes.

In fact, Darren says that Blaine won’t be the only character who gets a bit more pushy when Season 4 begins. “We joke about Season 4 Tina, too — she's really sassy,” he says. “We're all vicious — maybe it's Senioritis, who knows.”

Wait — so now Tina of all people is going to become a mean girl? Gah! What are the writers doing to us?! And since when are the New Directions vicious? If you ask us, being vicious should be the domain of Vocal Adrenaline, and Vocal Adrenaline alone.
