Ben Affleck Embraces Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl Cover
Rosamund Pike isn’t going anywhere in her new Entertainment Weekly cover with Ben Affleck. The English actress — whom we first fell in love with way back in Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightley — takes center stage in anticipated 2014 blockbuster Gone Girl.
Based on the best-selling book by Gillian Flynn and produced by Reese Witherspoon, the movie chronicles the, um, let’s say marital difficulties of Nick and Amy Dunne, as portrayed onscreen by Ben and Rosamund.
Although the EW cover, shot by the movie’s director David Fincher, hints Amy’s gone before Gone Girl even gets going, if this novel proves anything, it’s that looks can be deceiving.
But enough semi-spoilers. Let’s analyze this cover more thoroughly.
First, Rosamund looks lovely even when posing as a corpse while Ben’s warm embrace could resurrect the dead (scientific evidence pending). Unfortunately, there’s no sign of the duo’s fellow Gone Girl co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry nor of Reese, who says she’ll only be producing, not starring in, the movie.
Filming is currently underway for the picture, which is set to hit theaters on October 3. That’s plenty of time to read up on the plot in case you just can’t wait to learn if Rosamund’s actually a goner.
