Best and Worst Fashion on Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 5: “The Fasting and The Furious”
Diana Payne was sure that Yom Kippur, a day of fasting and family company, would elicit some scandal, but it’s clear that she hasn’t been around the Upper East Side that long. Our favorite scandalmongers hardly need an excuse or a holiday to cause drama, and with the release of Dan’s book still weighing on everyone’s mind, there was a lot of it still hanging in the air. Check out who allowed bad blood to make their wardrobe choices go haywire and who kept their cool despite the fray in this week’s “The Fasting and the Furious.”
Hot: Blair’s Yummy Yom Kippur Look
Blair Waldorf in pants is not a sight we’re used to seeing often, but we could definitely get accustomed to it! Sophisticated with just the right amount of (floral) flare, we like what her proximity to royalty is doing to her sense of style – even if we’re still iffy about her royal beau.
Hot: Chuck’s Dapper Dog Park Duds
Chuck says he’s feeling like his old self, and we believe him! The choice of a bold paisley tie and pink pocket square is classic Bass.
Hot: Beatrice’s Upper East Side Encore Ensemble
Beatrice, we don’t usually take kindly to those who mess with Queen B, but we can’t deny that any friend of a chic print is a friend of ours. (Especially if it means we can raid your closet.)
Not: Nate’s Casual Work Wears
Even though Nate looks like Chuck’s assistant here, we’re not sure even Young Bass would hire his bestie dressed like that.
Not: Mrs. Waldorf’s Colorbleed Blouse
We’re willing to bet that Blair takes a lot of her style cues from her mom – check out those matching trousers! – but the designer’s blinding copper-tinged, sort of luxe tie-dye black top definitely left something to be desired. Sorry, Eleanor, we just expect more from Waldorfs.
