Ever wonder what Ed Westwick thinks of all this will-they/won’t-they business between Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf?!
(Prepare to not love this...)
In a new interview with E! Online, Ed claims he’s pretty sure he woulda been out the door awhile ago, if he were at the helm of the good ‘ship Chair instead of C-Bass! “If it was me, I would tell [Blair] to go and get lost a million years ago because I don’t care... there’s other people out there,” Ed said. “That’s kind of what I want to do: I want to grab Chuck Bass and say, ‘There are other people other there, man. It’s not cool!’”
He continued, “You just need to pack bags, move away, you’ve got the money, go live in Tahiti or something. There’s no need to be there anymore.”
Oof!
But... we see his point. With all the tricks these two have pulled on one another, all the would-be schemes that have gone down at their expense(s), it’s hard to know if they’ll ever... finally... get it together. And if the final act will be worth it in the long run ― let’s face it, their track record dictates it could be a longgg road ahead should they ever actually get together!
But we have to hope! They’re like the CW’s answer to Derek and Meredith! Like this generation’s Buffy and Angel!! (i.e. HELLO, DESTINED!). Or, as Ed says, a lil’ like another famous pair of star-crossed lovers...
What is this about...
“It’s tragic in a way,” he said of the ongoing battle for Chair. “It’s kind of funny because I’m going to do Romeo and Juliet, the film, and in a way it kind of resembles that. That’s a romance tragedy and, in a way, Chuck and Blair are a romance tragedy. So much has happened that if they can’t get it together then that’s the tragedy, because they do love each other and there’s been so much external influence. It’s everything else going on around you when you know it should just be you two.” Le sighhh.
Still ― Ed’s feelings aside ― don’t look for Chuck to be backing down any time soon. Ed says he’ll be keeping up the good fight for B’s heart throughout Season 5.
“She’s his muse, she’s his obsession,” he said. “It’s such a big deal for him. It’s taken on a thing, like she is the air that he breathes. He wants at any cost to find a way to be with her and that’s what he’s doing for the rest of the season, is trying, trying, trying.”
Cue collective “Phew!”
