Ed Westwick — Is That You?! Gossip Girl Star Nearly Unrecognizable in New Movie (PHOTO)

The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of great tragedy — but the real tragedy just may be what the most recent film adaptation of Shakespeare’s work has done to our dear Ed Westwick!

In the new flick, set to hit the big screen next year, Ed plays Tybalt, Juliet’s short-tempered, sword-happy cousin. But the man who brings so much swagger to Gossip Girl’s Chuck Bass is barely recognizable in this swagger-stealing wig.

Guess we couldn’t expect a 16th-century character to wear finely tailored suits — but we can’t help but be shocked by the drastic change and absence of pocket squares. Of course, all it takes is one note of Ed’s sexy British growl to make us forget his questionable coif.
