Though we’re not too surprised to learn that Season 4 is Taylor Momsen’s (Jenny) swan song, we’re more than a little shocked that Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) will not reprise her Gossip Girl role next season. Yes, we suggested the writers have Vanessa fall down a mine shaft, but we didn’t think they’d actually (almost) listen!
Scoopster Michael Ausiello has reported that neither actress has been invited back as a series regular, but the possibility for guest starring still remains. Instead, newcomer Kaylee DeFer (Charlie) will join the ranks of Blake Lively (Serena) and Leighton Meester (Blair) as a series regular, which gives her plenty of time to win many of you over.
We know Taylor will be fine, as she’s often expressed her desire to pursue her music full time. But what of Jessica? Sure, she’s nominated for a MTV Movie Award for her work in Piranha 3D, but the fact that Piranha 3D is even on her resume isn’t very encouraging.
